Peters Produce, or Peter's as it really should be, started in 1981 when Peter opened a shop in East Street, Herne Bay.
Following the success of that shop a second shop in Station Road, Birchington was added in 1983.
In 1990 Peter's son, Andrew, joined the business and the Herne Bay shop relocated to it's current location in William Street.
Over the years despite many challenges facing local High Streets the business continued to thrive.
Today, Andrew's son, Christian, is taking a lead role and will take the business forward whilst keeping to our traditional values of hard work, fresh produce, fair pricing and above all, good service.
From day one we have always followed the seasons and where possible, sourced our produce from local growers and producers.
This helps to ensure maximum freshness, flavour and value as well as supporting the local community and economy. It's not just fruit & veg we source locally, we also stock other locally produced items including honey, juices, oils, crisps and crackers.
For produce further afield we have daily deliveries of fresh produce from London's New Covent Garden Market
Whilst we deliver 6 days a week Mon - Sat our shop is open every day for order collections and direct purchases.
